Babes in the Woods

Make 2017 the summer you and your new baby hit the trails of Alaska! Get ready for your summer adventures at the Manitoba Hut on the beautiful Kenai Peninsula with an overnight workshop on June 3rd-4th. This posh camping spot, just a short walk from the parking lot is the perfect location to learn the essentials of camping with babies and toddlers.

Join Jennifer Aist, founder and director of Providence Alaska Medical Center's parenting and childbirth education program, Parenting with Providence, author, and wilderness educator for a weekend that will leave you confident in your skills of cooking, tent pitching, sleeping, packing babes and even bear awareness. This class is specifically designed for parents with children under 5 years of age. Learn about if breastfeeding attracts bears, how to set up a tarp in the rain, how to carry the baby and your gear backpacking, how to keep your baby warm and safe at night, how to be bear safe, and much more to certify your little one as a true Babe in the Woods.

After making your reservation you will receive a follow up email from Jen with more information about the pre-course prep session in town, meal planning for the weekend and a packing list. The course will run from midday on Saturday, June 3rd until midday on Sunday, June 4th.
