Ocean Explorers Day Camp  

Dive into Alaska’s marine ecosystems, discover marine animals, and build a connection to nature. Learn how you can make a difference by becoming a SeaLife Conservation Agent. Each day kids will engage in hands-on games and activities, explore the amazing views and wildlife within Resurrection Bay, have a snack, and tour the Alaska SeaLife Center. Venture Outside! Get ready to embark on an exciting week or more of summer fun right here in Anchorage on the vibrant campus of Alaska Pacific University at Camp Fire Alaska's day camp! Camp K
Get away! Alaska’s longest-running, all-gendered overnight camp is nestled along the shores of Kenai Lake in Cooper Landing, a two-hour bus ride from Anchorage. Just a stone’s throw from main camp, and your own cabin is on a half-mile long beach with access to hiking trails, boating activities, large fields for outdoor games, an art building, as well as river rafting and horseback riding nearby. This 160-acre campus within the Chugach National Forest is “wild Alaska” with everyday opportunities to be off the grid, experience wildlife, and take in the epic beauty right outside your cabin door.

Summer Adventure
Discover fun! Our most flexible and accessible licensed program runs all day (7 am-5:30 pm) at three elementary schools – South Anchorage, Downtown and in Eagle River. Your child can join us for a day, a week (most popular) or the whole summer! Each day features a variety of hands-on activities including sports, arts and crafts, cooking, science, and community involvement. Field trips, theme weeks, surprise guests and more are all included. If you want your child to get outside, learn new skills, make new friends, play hard and have quiet time, then this is the camp for you.

Summer Day Camp
Spend the summer outside with our weekly day camp! This camp runs Monday-Thursday for 10 weeks over the summer starting June 10th. Sign up for a single week, a few weeks, or the whole summer! Participants will spend fun-filled days OUTDOORS with games, art, and exploring the forests of the Wynn Nature Center and the beaches of the Homer Spit. Each week has a new theme! Sign up for multiple weeks of camp and get a 10% discount for each additional week!

Fins & Scales Camp
This is a new camp all about fish! Perfect for kids who want to learn about fish anatomy, investigate ocean food webs, catch fish, dissect fish, make fish art, prepare fish, and/or eat fish! Campers will spend 3 nights and 4 days at the Peterson Bay Field Station exploring all different aspects of fish. Weather permitting, campers will have a chance to kayak and the potential opportunity to dipnet at China Poot Creek. This camp is open to Alaska residents only. No prior fishing experience required! Travel funding for Kachemak Bay/Lower Cook Inlet-area youth available.

Wilderness Weekend for Teens
Curious about camping? Want to learn a little about natural science or outdoor adventure? This weekend is the perfect way to spend some time in nature with a fun group of people. You'll head over to the Peterson Bay Field Station in a water taxi and spend at least one night in our heated yurts. Depending on group interest, the trip may also include a night camping in Kachemak Bay State Park, a morning kayaking in Peterson Bay, and/or a day hike in the State Park. No need to already have camping equipment--we have all sorts of outdoor gear for you to borrow! Price includes all boat transportation around Kachemak Bay, food, and lodging.

Trailside Discovery Camp is an award-winning camp program in Alaska that provides a broad range of outdoor environmental education experiences for students ages 4 to 14 from all economic, social, and cultural backgrounds.

What to expect at camp in 2024:
• Age-appropriate activities tailored to each session, from nature walks to arts and crafts and lively camp songs.
• Full-day activities for all campers, including hands-on learning about the environment and world around them through outdoor exploration.
• Campers ages 4-5 will enjoy walks to nearby activities and will not be transported in TDC vehicles.
